What is happiness for you?
Is it a jar full of Nutella or a mug full of cold coffee with brownie? YUM!
Or
A Porche, a villa with a sea view and a family vacation in Maldives right now? Sounds good?
Happiness could mean different for different people, depending on where they are in their lives right now? What all they have suffered in life and how they feel comforted int he presence or absence of a few things.
Self-discovery might be an intimidating concept for many, it is when you take your first step towards the quest of the concept of real you. The day you begin to question your source of happiness? When you question stereotypes and want to free yourself from the set norms.
Self-discovery exercise for Day 8- Happiness
So, today I want you to ask this simple question to your inner-self? What is your idea of happiness? What makes you happy? You will not believe it, I had written a blog post, sometime back, stating 40 things that make a woman happy and the list could go on.
I compiled a list based on my observations and personal experiences but I will still unsatisfied with the final outcome, you know why? Because ultimately that is my idea of happiness. Someone might not relate to any of those ideas and find happiness in the strangest place we can ever think of.
We are programmed that way, right? I will again come to my writing job, as it gives me sheer pleasure. Writing is therapeutic to me. Even when I was not earning a single penny out of what I write and deliver, I use to write and enjoy the process. The ability to express, gives me happiness.
My daughter’s smile gives me happiness, when I send hand-written letter to a complete stranger and it gives them hope, I find happiness in that hope. Happiness could be found anywhere but to find it one must be open to receive it and to receive it you need awareness.
You need to know what exactly makes you happy, that content, satisfaction, and inner-equanimity. Gradually you can develop the source of your happiness as your coping mechanisms and it will help you to fight those tough times or lone fights. I know it might sound a little hard to process. All you have to do is pay attention.
Till then, tune in to this song by Sherly Crow
See you tomorrow.
