“We are taught to stay strong, to keep going, but not enough about where to go when it gets heavy.“
Being a solo parent isn’t just about raising a child alone; it’s about carrying everything on your shoulders while quietly holding space for your child’s dreams, running a household, and focusing on your healing and identity.
I started Solo Parents Club because I have lived the silence and the stigma and how much insensitivity the world holds around single-parent families. After my divorce and raising my child alone in both the UK and India, I deeply felt the need for a dedicated community, a place where I didn’t have to explain myself, where I didn’t feel judged or misunderstood.
India talks a lot about family and values, but what about families that don’t fit the traditional mold?
Where is the space for single moms, single dads, divorced or widowed parents, those who chose to raise a child solo, or those who had no other choice? Solo parenting is still a quiet struggle in India, buried under shame, pressure, and isolation.
